The attention of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) Management has been drawn to an online report with the headline ‘Crisis Looms in MAPOLY as Okebukola’s Committee Orders Sack of Over 300 Staff Members’.
In a statement by the institutions Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Sulaiman Adebiyi, he said the story was untrue and misleading.
“The Institution’s authority will like to place it on record that the ‘sack’ story is not only untrue but misleading, ” he said.
The online media had reported that all cadres of staff at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta, Ogun state have declared an indefinite strike following the alleged unilateral decision taken by Prof. Peter Okebukola-led transition committee to sack the over 300 academic staff of the institution.
Okebukola who was said to have notified every staff of the institution to tender a resignation letter with a view to reapply as a fresh staff of Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology was jointly rebuked by the Academic staff of the institution .
The Chairman of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic’s (ASUP) MAPOLY chapter, Mr Kola Abiola, was said to have announced an indefinite strike around 11:17 a.m on Tuesday, noting that it has been agreed upon that both
Prof Okebukola and Dr Ebenezer Nkom should be replaced.
The Chairman who pointed accusing fingers to Prof. Okebukola, however call on the Gov. Ibikunle Amosun to get capable hands for their
replacement .
